Ciao Cacao in Kelheim

Due to the corona, there are currently only Striezel to go and mulled wine / coffee. The stritzel are freshly prepared, which requires a bit of waiting. But the time is worth it, the stritzel are just good and there are many variations (e.g. vanilla, hazelnut, poppy seeds, almond, ...)

Baumstriezel was delicious, if I can, I'll come back and eat another 😋!

Great ambience and very nice staff! The ice cream is really tasty and I was particularly impressed by the tree stripes, which you can't get anywhere else and which taste extremely good. In the Ciao Cacao these are even freshly prepared. Simply recommendable!

The very popular restaurant is located directly at the harbor on the Danube. I still know it from the beginning (2018) when we were very excited. Coffee was good, ice cream delicious, service very warm and the breakfast super impressive. Now we were unfortunately very disappointed, the small café was clearly overwhelmed. Ice cream or the tree sticks filled with ice cream are not served at the table. That means you have to stand in the long queue - even if you have a table - to get the ice cream yourself. In other words, the rest of the table waits 20 minutes until you get back with your ice cream. It might work well if three people are standing at the ice cream counter, but with such a rush it has nothing to do with good service - and the tree triezel filled with ice still costs € 7.50! Mind you, you get iced coffee and the warm Baumstriezel brought to the table. If the ice cream counter is very crowded, you should perhaps condescend to bring the ice cream to the guests' table. The service was harsh - to a question about additives in the ice cream (vegan or not vegan) we got the answer: "Ask at the counter". Due to the poor service, we didn't want to tip. Absolute no-go: the waitress simply kept the change without asking, we couldn't look that fast. So in the end with a tip ... In the restaurant in the hallway to the toilet, we were prodded whether we were already guests. It is not okay to let guests pay for their own overload with such an inappropriate tone! Positive: The tarte flambée was really tasty and the saleswoman at the ice window was super nice. My ice cream in the Baumstriezel was also delicious (Baumstriezel but unfortunately no longer fluffy).

- a google ice cream - There will be reasons why we could order drinks and hearty food at the place, but no ice cream, let alone the in-house specialty, the filled Baumstrietzel. There are certainly reasons why the next table still got an iced coffee. There will also be reasons why there will be at least as many for every two friendly waitresses who are too inspired by "2 Broke Girls". Maybe there are even reasons why I didn't like the mango ice cream - only God knows that. The bottom line is this: If you arrive with a group of people and want an ice cream while chilling out at the table without being sniffed at the table - a lot Happiness.

Very nice cozy cafe. Delicious Baumstritzel and yeast dumplings was awesome! Delicious!! Tea was delicious too. Now let's try the ice cream! But it is already clear that we will definitely come back and recommend it. Staff is also very nice and friendly. Keep it up!!!

At least the beer is nice and cold, the beer garden is nice, the service is funky and brisk. Can you go to a new place.

What a beautiful, lovingly decorated, somewhat hidden café! 😍 There are tree curls in warm without filling (I had the version with poppy seeds, a culinary delight! 🤤) or cold with ice cream and toppings, a nice selection of coffee, tea and cold drinks and even tarte flambée. I felt like I was in paradise. Service was super nice and brisk, I will definitely be back! 😃👍🏼

I felt a little uncomfortable because our reserved table was right next to the line for ice cream. And there were a lot of people who didn't wear mouth-nose protection. There were signs everywhere, but the waitress didn't point it out. Also there is no ice cream card anymore and when we asked, it was said for hygienic reasons. ????

Very comfortable and nicely decorated, small but nice. Staff very friendly, also recommended for older people, all barrier-free. Even real flowers at the table, as well as the heart is blooming. Coffee is served with a small homemade pastry, cakes lovingly decorated in various designs, cocktail for the eye and the palate. All in one, we are not here for the last time. It is always worth a visit. Thanks for the very good service.
